Tidal Calendar
The Tidal Calendar forecasts the expected water levels of the lagoon. But the open sea will always be at your disposal.
The schematic depiction is based on the data of Abu Tig Marina – El Gouna. According to our experience, the forecasts are mostly correct. Nevertheless there are considerable deviations at times, especially during winter months and with waxing moon. At these times, the water level is generally higher, which has a positive effect on the kiteable times in the lagoon. And there are days on which, contrary to the forecasts, the lagoon isn’t empty.
Daytimes that are colored blue in the calendar are always kiteable and, according to our experience, often even last longer than is depicted in the Tidal Calendar.
The green-colored times are also kiteable as a rule, but the low tide starts setting in at these daytimes. You should know yourself whether you can make high jumps with a water level of 20 cm. Apart from that, the entire Red Sea is at your disposal!
During times that are colored in yellow-brown, the lagoon is empty.
